Our Program

Grace Lutheran School offers a comprehensive academic program for students in preschool 2 through 8th grade. The difference at Grace is that we are also a Christian school. This means that we teach about Jesus Christ, who lived the perfect life we could not, died, and rose again for our salvation.  As a brief overview:

  • Grace uses secular textbooks to teach virtually all of its subjects.
  • All subjects are taught with a world Christian view which also includes morals and values.
  • Subjects taught include Math and all Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, daily Bible classes, PE, Art, Music and Spanish for grades 3-8th.  Technology is incorporated at all grade levels within the classroom including grades 3 through 8th having their own individually assigned laptops.  Students in early elementary classes share laptops, and preschool through 1st grade also share tablets.
  • We currently use the MAP Test  to measure the academic status of our students. The MAP  is used by schools of all varieties—especially private schools. This test is given three times a year and measures each individual student’s progress.  This test is also used prior to enrollment for admissions' readiness.
  • In Kindergarten, students grow as emergent readers as the foundation for future reading is laid.  We teach phonics in our lower grades. We find that the teaching of phonics is important for the acquisition of reading skills.
  • We participate fully in the nationally acclaimed Accelerated Reader program.
  • Students perform very well upon leaving GLS.  They acclimate well and often times our students place into honors level programs upon leaving Grace.  (Several of our students have gone on to be in the top 10 of their senior class in high school.)

Grace Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to or made available to pupils at the school. Grace Lutheran School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation in administration of their educational policies, athletics, and other school administered programs.
